Press conference on Survey of “going global”
A Survey on Tianjin enterprises’ investment in foreign countries was released by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Tianjin sub-Council (CCPIT Tianjin). Mr. Zhao Xueming, chairman of CCPIT Tianjin briefed the news media and answered questions raised by reporters at the press conference which was held in CCPIT Tianjin on March 5, 2013.
The Survey was conducted in form of questionnaire, telephone interview and panel discussion by CCPIT Tianjin from August 2012 in order to carry out “going global” strategy and promote Tianjin enterprises’ outbound investment.

The survey shows that Tianjin enterprises’ outbound investment is growing steadily with good potential and momentum. Based on statistics of the questionnaire, 51.4% of Tianjin enterprises have plans to invest or inject new capital in their overseas projects in the forthcoming two to three years.
Most of the investment in foreign countries from Tianjin enterprises is relatively small in scale and few in big projects. The statistics show that the single investment volume abroad for each of the 75.7% of the questionnaire respondents is below 1 million US dollars. Asia are the major investment destination for Tianjin enterprises with Africa and other emerging markets following closely behind.
Classified by investment fields, 42.2% Tianjin outbound enterprises are focusing on processing and manufacturing sectors including machinery, electronics and textile. The survey shows that financing, market information and talented people are what the outbound enterprises in urgent need of for their overseas drive.
