CCPIT Tianjin chairman Zhao Xueming briefed the news media and answer questions raised by the reporters at the press conference held in the meeting room of CCPIT Tianjin on May 13.
The survey’s data was collected from the forms of questionnaires, on-site inspections and panel discussions as well as counting and sorting out from basic statistics of national exhibition activities. Three editions of questionnaires as exhibition participating firms, exhibition organizing enterprises and exhibition centres were involved. In addition, CCPIT Tianjin also sorted out statistics on the development conditions of exhibition industry in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen through data of exhibition publications and media reports, striving to guarantee data’s accuracy of the survey.
Tianjin’s exhibition industry is on a rise but tough phase. No matter on the conditions of hard and soft environments, the exhibition industry of Tianjin has its advantages and potentials but also faces problems and difficulties on the process of development, the survey said.
In the past few years, the fast-improved city appearance and status of Tianjin promote the city’s influence and attraction. Tianjin’s exhibition industry has a marked development amid the application of Tianjin Meijing Exhibition and Convention Centre and the construction of Tianjin National Exhibition Centre. The city’s exhibition industry is getting active and market-oriented while non-state enterprises have been the predominant sector in the exhibition market and the market environment is increasingly optimized, the survey said.
According to the survey, the advancement of Tianjin exhibition industry does not grow in step with the city’s social and economic development. Contracted with powerful exhibition organizing cities among the national open coastal regions, the exhibition industry of Tianjin falls behind.
Tianjin’s exhibition market is in the low-leveled but high-competitive condition of development, the survey said.
The survey also makes proposals for the promotion of Tianjin exhibition industry:
1. Positioning and planning the outline of Tianjin exhibition industry scientifically. The market niche should march in step with the city’s characteristics and targets of overall development.
2. Optimizing environment and nurturing mainstay of exhibition market. The government should focus on the issues of management ideas guidance, policy’s assistance, information supports, and the market supervision, as well as introducing domestic high-end exhibition organizing firms and foreign-invested enterprises to further diversify the exhibition market of Tianjin.
3. Accelerating the construction of exhibition associations and the legality of the market.
4. Exploring complementary development on organizations of exhibition activities, with the momentum of economic integration of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei.
