Tianjin municipality, Fujian province and the American state of Oregon jointly held an agricultural products promotion conference on Dec 9 to facilitate economic and trade cooperation.
Sponsored by Tianjin’s foreign affairs office (FAO) and its commerce bureau and agriculture and rural affairs authority, the online conference attracted more than 40 homegrown companies.
According to an official from the municipal FAO, Tianjin is striving to assimilate into a new development paradigm with domestic circulation as the mainstay and domestic and international circulations reinforcing each other.
“We hope to make good use of the Tianjin Port and the National Convention &Exhibition Center in Tianjin to promote smart and green development in constructing an international consumption destination,” he said.
In this context, the city is expected to enhance economic and cultural ties with its twin counterpart and even the world as a whole.
The event allowed enterprises to contact and collaborate with each other in an efficient way. Representatives of the Oregon agriculture authority promoted local special products such as nuts, meat, wine and feed for livestock.
Tianjin and Oregon have been building a friendship since June 2014, maintaining personnel exchanges.
They have discussed deepening cooperation in logistics, ports, economy and trade, culture and education, and have achieved the first fruits.
