WTO Successfully Concluded its 3rd Review on China’s Trade Policy

%3CFONT%20face%3DVerdana%3E%0D%0A%3CP%3E%3CFONT%20face%3DVerdana%3EThe%20WTO%203rd%20Review%20on%20China%27s%20Trade%20Policy%20after%20China%27s%20accession%20to%20WTO%20has%20been%20successfully%20concluded%20on%20June%202.%20Turkish%20Ambassador%20to%20the%20WTO%20Bozkurt%20Aran%2C%20Chaired%20the%20Review%2C%20and%20spoke%20highly%20of%20China%27s%20actively%20expanding%20domestic%20demand%20and%20greatly%20increasing%20its%20import%20which%20promoted%20the%20recovery%20of%20the%20world%20economy%20when%20coping%20with%20the%20financial%20crisis.%20%3C/FONT%3E%3C/P%3E%0D%0A%3CP%3E%3CFONT%20face%3DVerdana%3EAran%20said%2C%20the%20WTO%20members%20appreciated%20China%27s%20constructive%20role%20in%20the%20WTO.%20He%20also%20pointed%20out%20that%20a%20well-operated%20multilateral%20trade%20system%20was%20conducive%20to%20the%20steady%20growth%20and%20development%20of%20China%27s%20economy.%20Besides%2C%20given%20the%20tense%20and%20situation%20and%20decreasing%20trade%20value%2C%20this%20Review%20underlined%20the%20WTO%20Trade%20Policy%20Review%20Mechanism%27s%20great%20role%20in%20improving%20the%20transparence%2C%20promoting%20negotiation%20and%20cooperation%2C%20and%20avoiding%20misunderstandings%20among%20members.%20%3C/FONT%3E%3C/P%3E%0D%0A%3CP%3E%3CFONT%20face%3DVerdana%3EAran%20also%20said%20that%20China%20was%20easily%20impacted%20by%20the%20economic%20depression%20as%20its%20export%20took%20up%20a%20great%20position%20in%20China%27s%20economy.%20However%2C%20a%20series%20of%20financial%20and%20monetary%20policies%20taken%20by%20the%20Chinese%20government%2C%20including%204%20trillion%20stimulus%20package%2C%20successfully%20helped%20China%27s%20economy%20rebound%20in%202009%20and%20made%20great%20contributions%20to%20the%20recovery%20of%20the%20world%20economy.%20%3C/FONT%3E%3C/P%3E%0D%0A%3CP%3E%3CFONT%20face%3DVerdana%3EAran%20stated%20that%20the%20WTO%20members%20appreciated%20China%27s%20hard%20efforts%20in%20opposing%20trade%20protectionism%2C%20improving%20the%20policy%20transparence%20and%20revising%20trade%20regulations%2C%20and%20hoped%20that%20China%20could%20continue%20adhering%20to%20its%20development%20policy%20of%20reform%20and%20opening-up.%20Meanwhile%2C%20they%20proposed%20their%20suggestions%20on%20further%20reducing%20the%20trade%20barrier%2C%20strengthening%20the%20protection%20of%20Intellectual%20Property%20Rights%20and%20expanding%20its%20market%20in%20services.%20%3C/FONT%3E%3C/P%3E%0D%0A%3CP%3E%3CFONT%20face%3DVerdana%3EThe%20WTO%20makes%20regular%20review%20on%20its%20members%27%20trade%20policies.%20And%20other%20two%20reviews%20on%20China%27s%20trade%20policy%20were%20made%20in%202006%20and%202008%20respectively.%20The%20preparation%20of%20this%20Review%20kicked%20off%20in%20January%20of%202009.%20In%20the%20time%20that%20went%20more%20than%20a%20year%2C%20the%20Ministry%20of%20Commerce%20of%20China%20organized%20over%2030%20departments%20of%20the%20State%20Council%20to%20negotiate%20with%20the%20WTO%20Secretariat%20on%20writing%20the%20Report%20on%20China%27s%20Trade%20Policy%20Review.%20In%20this%20two-day%20Review%2C%20the%20Chinese%20delegation%20headed%20by%20Vice%20Minister%20of%20Commerce%20Yi%20Xiaozhun%20communicated%20with%20other%20WTO%20members%20on%20China%27s%20policies%20and%20measures%20in%20past%202%20years%20and%20made%20written%20responses%20to%20more%20than%201%2C500%20questions%20posed%20by%20members.%20%3CBR%3E%3C/FONT%3E%3C/P%3E%3C/FONT%3E
