In April this year, Tianjin Port Group Corporation, China National Heavy Duty Truck Group Corporation and Tianjin Mainline Technology Co., Ltd. jointly built the world's first driverless electric truck which started trial operation in Tianjin Port. An unmanned electric truck equipped with laser radar, high-definition camera and intelligent computing unit enables full-automatic driving of containers from the shore to the yard.
Also this year, the truck helped the port focus on logistics advantage of Tianjin and signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Tianjin Economic-technological Development Area (TEDA). The truck will help the landing of thecore business segment, i.e., car-free carrier, actively deploying the intelligent logistics park and the port logistics smart cloud platform, and launch the cargo unmanned pilot.
It can be indicated that driverless and automatic driving has become the new enthusiasm of the intelligent industry. The exhibited car models have attracted many citizens' attention. It is claimed that ICONIQ MOTORS will achieve unmanned driving by 2020 through technical cooperation with Microsoft and AKKA. LUNA, a universal outdoor unmanned delivery vehicle was also unveiled at the WIC, which was independently developed by the technical team of Zhejiang University Binhai Robot Center of Binhai High-tech Industrial Zone. It has ability to build a large-scale environment three-dimensional map, real-time accurate positioning without DGPS, safety and autonomous navigation and other functions in the mixed environment of people and vehicles, which can be combined with logistics requirements to complete autonomous delivery.
In fact, intelligent networked cars produced from Binhai New Area are expected to accelerate pace into families. Two companies in the High-tech Zone, i.e., Huatai Automobile and NEVS Automotive Technology Development Co., Ltd.already have development plans for intelligent networked cars.
In the future, citizens can take the unmanned bus to visit the Eco-city. At present, it is actively pursuing a scenario test between the Baidu Unmanned Bus Project and the Eco-city and its science park. In addition, at the beginning of this year, Jingdong unmanned delivery vehicles have been tested on the roads in the Eco-city, with auto-driving as the core technology.
