Tianjin Port sees robust growth of container and cargo throughput in Feb

Tianjin Port in north China's Tianjin saw rising container and cargo throughput in Feb, according to the port's operator.
Its container throughput rose 33.2 percent year on year to more than 1.22 million 20-foot equivalent units (TEUs) in the period.
Its cargo throughout topped 32.2 million tons in the period, a year-on-year increase of 20.3 percent.
The port has witnessed robust growth despite the COVID-19 epidemic, thanks to its improving operating efficiency and increasing imports and needs during the Spring Festival, according to the company.
As an important shipping hub in north China, the port is expected to exceed 30 million TEUs in container throughput in 2028.
