Over the last 10 years, Dongjiang Free Trade Port Zone has witnessed its leasing sector grow from scratch to become one of the most important leasing business areas in China.
Despite the epidemic outbreak last year, Dongjiang leased 163 aircraft, 31 aircraft engines, 38 international ships, and 16 offshore platforms - as well as adding 281 new leasing companies.
These achievements were thanks to policy-level and management model reforms aimed at supporting vigorous innovation and industrial development.
A batch of platform economy projects in areas such as smart logistics, healthcare, the automobile industry, new finance, digital industry, and more have settled in Dongjiang.
The development of the "platform economy" is an important measure for Dongjiang in terms of adapting to its new stage of development. "The platform economy is not only a new type of industry, it can also actively empower traditional industries", said Shen Lei, local committee director.
As a core part of the Tianjin Free Trade Zone, Dongjiang will focus on high-quality development, reform and innovation during the 14th Five-Year period.
In terms of the transformation and upgrading of the free trade pilot zone, Dongjiang will make various efforts to explore the construction of a free trade port, said Shen Lei.
In terms of enhancing industrial competitiveness, Dongjiang will further optimize the development environment of its leasing industry and serve the real economy.
It will build a globally competitive aircraft leasing center and ship leasing center, upgrade its industrial scale, and develop more sub-categories.
