Tianjin’s agricultural exports up 34.8% in the first two months of 2021

Tianjin’s agricultural exports reached 1.05 billion yuan in the first two months of the year, a year-on-year increase of 34.8 percent, and 18.7 percentage points higher than the national average, according to Tianjin Customs.
The export value of tomato sauce reached 150 million yuan in the period, a whopping 82.5 percent increase year-on-year. The export of small tomato sauce packages ranked first in the country.
In addition, the export of sunflower seeds was 90.5 million yuan, accounting for 8.6 percent of the city's total export value of agricultural products.
During the period, export volumes to emerging markets grew substantially, with exports to ASEAN and Africa increasing by 101.5 percent and 17.3 percent year-on-year respectively. The export volumes of the city’s agricultural products to Japan rose over 11 percent to hit 180 million yuan.
Private enterprises are the main players in the city’s growth of agricultural exports, accounting for 70 percent of the export values.
