Tianjin’s food exports in H1 marks 5-year-record

In the first half of the year, Tianjin’s food exports amounted to 2.85 billion yuan($439.75 billion), a year-on-year increase of 8.9 percent, and a record high in the last five years.
Since the beginning of the year, Tianjin Customs has taken active measures to strengthen its supervision and optimization services to help facilitate Tianjin food exports. Tailored policies have been made for each company and a target time set for customs clearance.
According to statistics, in the first half of this year, the city exported 690 million yuan of canned food, a year-on-year increase of 21.5 percent, accounting for 24.2 percent of the city’s total food export value; the meat exported valued at 230 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.3 percent; dried and fresh fruits and nuts hit 180 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 196.6 percent. 
In addition, the export of edible aquatic products was 73.96 million yuan, an increase of 61.9 percent; and the export value of alcohol and beverages, edible oils, and vegetables increased by 96.7 percent, 81.1 percent, 141.3 percent respectively.
