Tianjin’s Dongli makes achievements in IP protection

Dongli district of Tianjin has strengthened intellectual property protection for its enterprises and achieved notable progress.

The district has offered 1,000 small-and medium-sized enterprises with daily intellectual property application consultations to show them how to protect their IP. 

The government also provided intellectual property cultivation services. Focusing on the core technologies of enterprises, specialists carried out analyses and worked to help enterprises obtain patent rights efficiently. As a result, the number of patents in the district has increased by an average annual rate of 34 percent, and the number of effective patents has exceeded 15,000. 

More than 600 corporate intellectual property management personnel have been trained, 320 of whom have obtained the qualifications of internal auditors.

It also won national honors in scientific and technological achievement transformation. In 2020, Dongli qualified over 1200 cutting-edge and innovation-driven high-tech players. It currently has 15 municipal-level key laboratories and 14 municipal-level engineering technology centers, accounting for 7 percent of Tianjin; 5 municipal-level industrial research institutes, accounting for 21 percent of the city's proportion.

By the end of Oct, Dongli had completed a total of 6.17 billion yuan($965.18 million) in technology contract transactions, which is among the most in the city. 

It has established a special subsidy fund for technology contract transactions and formulated relevant policies, which are planned to be implemented in early 2022, which will greatly promote the transformation and upgrading of enterprises.
